Wannabe jousters from across the world head to Cowdenbeath to prove that they have what it takes to poke another person on a horse with a big stick. All are welcome.*
It wouldn’t be safe to put a child on a large horse and have them ride full speed at another child holding a long pointy stick – this is why under 16s are not allowed to take part in our main tournaments. However, children are welcome to compete in our kids jousting tournament, which features small ponies and lances made of spaghetti. Suitable for children aged 3-16.
Tournaments take place on Fridays.
The main tournaments last 3 hours, with the 1 hour kids joust happening immediately afterwards.
